The sharpening cycle for barbershops differs, but for cutting shears, it's every three months, and for thinning shears, it's every five to six months.
For beauty salons, it's five to six months for cutting shears and about ten months to a year for thinning shears. The durability of the sharpness varies depending on the type and number of shears.
This cycle likely applies to the shears that are used most frequently. Recently, I've been asked to inspect and sharpen shears. During this process, I often find issues like loose screws or excessive burrs, which indicate a lack of regular maintenance. Proper maintenance can extend the life of the shears.
